The podcast mystery
As part of my ongoing work on the website for Christ Community Church I have created a podcast. If you are curious you can check it out and subscribe at Feedburner.
Feedburner has expanded their free stats several weeks ago. I am amazed a the number of people who have downloaded our sermons, and at the number of people who are listed as subscribers. Granted the numbers aren’t huge, but for the size of our church, and the fact that most of the folks in the church are not as permanently attached to their computers as I am, I am surprised. I am not convinced that anyone at the church actually subscribes to podcasts. I have had a couple of people ask me what a podcast is. One person came up and commented about the podcast and seemed to understand it, but the typical response has been no response. In spite of this, over the last 30 days, according to Feedburner stats, our sermons have been downloaded 72 times. For a church where we burn two CD’s a week, and there generally is one left over, and where the highest attendance ever is just over 50 people, that is amazing. Over the same 30 days, about 7 people a day have checked the podcast through a subscription.
So, if you are one of the people who has subscribed or downloaded a sermon, I would love to know how you found it, and if you like the sermons.
