Ten Days and Counting . . .
Yesterday marked ten days until departure. The details are all falling into place.
I sent this e-mail out to those who have supported my trip, and to several friends who have encouraged me in taking Josh on this adventure:
Josh and I are leaving on our mission trip in just 10 days. It is hard to believe that it is so close, and it is very exciting.
All of our finances are in place. We have both received our vaccinations. We are preparing our packing lists. The details are all falling into place. Thanks to everyone who has offered support, from encouragement, to prayer, to financial support. It is very appreciated.
Now, we need prayers. Attached is a prayer schedule that has been prepared by e3 Partners, the mission agency that is sponsoring our trip. Please consider praying for us. If you are willing, we would love for you to pray for us from now until we return.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I am hoping to be able to post some updates on my blog while we are in Paraguay. I may be able to get Josh to post updates on his blog as well.
I am trying to allow the details to take care of themselves as much as possible, but I am used to focusing on details, so it is a challenge. When I was in high school, I was part of a spiritual renewal weekend called Chrysalis. We were constantly reminding the students who attended: “Don’t anticipate, participate.” I think that I am anticipating more than I should. Please pray that I will focus on what needs to get done, and not anticipate things that are out of my control.
The prayer calendar is attached. I would appreciate knowing if you are praying for me.
